Tj's Top 100 Movie List Part 2
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We’re back on TJ’s Top 100 movie list, and we’re doing it the only way that makes sense for our brains: spinning a wheel, pulling a random title, and immediately putting a number on it like we’re absolutely sure. The catch is we’re guessing TJ’s rankings, not our own, so every pick turns into a mini argument about vibes, rewatches, and the one scene you can’t forget. If you like movie podcasts that feel like a group chat with structure, this is that.
We bounce through a stacked mix of genres and eras: The Road and Tremors for the “survival vs comfort” contrast, Coraline and Where the Wild Things Are for the weird-kid canon, and heavy hitters like Django Unchained and Seven Pounds when the wheel wants emotional damage. From there we sprint into Chronicle, End of Watch, It, and Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, which turns into a full-on debate about what makes a movie iconic versus just popular.
Then we hit the big fandom lanes: Dune lore, Bond talk with Skyfall, nostalgic staples like Zathura and Zombieland, plus animated cult favorites like Rango, Monster House, and Surf’s Up. If you’ve ever tried to explain your personal “top movies of all time” list and realized it’s basically a personality profile, you’ll feel seen. Subscribe for more survival-grade movie conversations, share this with a friend who thinks their rankings are flawless, and leave a review with the one film you’d defend at any number on your list.
Back To The Movie Wheel
SPEAKER_04Hello, survivors, and welcome back to another episode of Will You Survive, the podcast. And today we are doing something very special, very amazing. It's been 255 days since we did it. We're doing the part two for TJ's Top 100 movie list. I'm sick of being the fucking host. Let's get this done. We're gonna speed up. You've been the host, basically. Yeah, but he has been the host for a month. We're gonna spin the wheel. The whole month of August. We got 69 movies left. They are going to write down what they think my top 100 is. We're gonna speed run through this. We're already spinning it. We've got Alex.
Bleak Futures And Monster Worms
SPEAKER_04That's me. That's Eric. Over there. Eric, say hi. I'm TJ. Spinning the wheel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we do gotta just get right into this. Hang on. Well, let me pull up the wheel. Hang on. Yeah, do you have my stream up? There you go. Now I do. My dog is deciding now's the time to be the loudest he's been all mine.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I I also uh I I changed the wheel a little bit, so now it makes noise. We're spinning the wheel. Wow.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's an annoying noise.
SPEAKER_04I know, right? That's the worst. Here I can mute.
SPEAKER_03Now I'll Uga Chaka.
SPEAKER_04The road. Oh, yeah, we were doing that. What is this? The road is a post-apocalyptic movie about a father and a son after the wife just leaves and kind of dies and kills herself or whatever, and they try to m go west because that's what she told them to do, and then then you know they go west, and it's a post-apocalyptic, so you know. Sure. Very sad, very, very dark. Uh good movie.
SPEAKER_02Can I tell you something funny really quick? Yeah. Um, I asked TJ like four weeks ago, uh out of the top ten, I have seven of those slots filled. And so I told him, Can I tell you what movies I have in the top seven or in the top ten? And then can you tell me if any of those are in the top ten? I have filled seven out of ten slots, and he says there's only two that are up there right now.
SPEAKER_03Shit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I've also overfilled the top ten wildly.
SPEAKER_03I only have four in the top ten.
SPEAKER_02I have no idea what his top ten movies would be. Tremors.
SPEAKER_04Tremors! Tremors is a movie about these big ass worms underground. Kevin Bacon's in it. They like to eat people and they dig through the it's basically like Dune, Dune worms.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04In a small town. Uh, and they have a lot of uh, you know.
SPEAKER_02They made a game about this.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he played it. They made a lot of for the one with the yeah, the worms. Yeah, it's a good ass game. I like it. It is a good game.
SPEAKER_03Are we not telling you where we're putting it anymore?
SPEAKER_04Oh, wait, yeah. Wait.
SPEAKER_02You're writing it down so we can check it out.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we are.
SPEAKER_02Well, wait, do we check there? Wait, what's we'll just go through really quick? Uh I put the road at 87.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 73.
SPEAKER_02Okay, and then it's yeah, okay, thanks. And then I put Tremors at 94.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 91.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Coraline.
SPEAKER_04Coraline. Oh, that's yeah Coraline is a not a claimation movie. It is a stop motion movie. Um it is about a little girl who moves into a house called the Pink Palace, and it is a one of those houses that it's kind of separated, so there's like neighbors in like one house, but it's like bricked off. And she finds a little door and it goes to a place.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 19.
SPEAKER_02I put it at uh 16. I was gonna put it at 20. Those are valid guesses.
SPEAKER_04Spinning the wheel. Hugo!
SPEAKER_02He didn't say one of us was closer.
SPEAKER_04One of you is closer. Uh Hugo is about a little boy who his parents die, and then he lives in a clock with his uncle, because his uncle runs the clock. Uh, and then his uncle dies, and he's just living in this clock, working on the clock. And he steals things, but then he likes there's some sh I don't know. It's a good movie. I say 45.
SPEAKER_03Holy shit, we are way different. I put 87.
SPEAKER_02Uh you might be right.
SPEAKER_04I don't know.
SPEAKER_03When he was closer.
SPEAKER_02Spin wheel Where the Wild Things Are. That's what that wheel sounded like, by the way.
SPEAKER_04Uh this is about a little boy who is he fucking gets crushed in a snow fort, and he's in a fucking he's on this island, and there's these weird, like stuffed animal, big giant stuffed animal things. And it's crazy and weird. And I like weird movies. It's based on a little it's based on a little kid's book. Good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, really quick. The first time I ever watched this movie was in a very strange circumstance. We were at a timeshare in Galveston, Texas. And the timeshare Thanksgiving? Yeah. Yeah. You might know this. You might know this. Uh, but uh, I think this was actually a different time.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02But uh yeah, there was like this little theater where they just ran movies. It was like this tiny room that they just had a big screen in, and they just ran movies, and they're like, We're showing where the wild things are at 4 30. And my mom was like, You can take your brother if you want to go see it. And we were like, Okay, and so we went and just watched the weirdest fucking movie. So weird, not like weird things at 4 30 in the afternoon in Galveston, Texas. It was very strange. I don't know how to explain just how weird it was.
SPEAKER_03Well, I put it at 99.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I think it was way higher. I put it at 60. Galveston, Texas is truly where the wild things are.
unknownTrue.
SPEAKER_04I don't know how much there. Spinning the wheel. Django. Django is about a uh two dudes. One is a dentist, but also a bounty hunter. Uh at the beginning of the movie, uh, he f is looking for this particular set of brothers, uh, and he knows this one slave that uh knows who they are. So he finds him. His name is Django and they go and they look for the brothers, and then he's like, I have a wife. And you know what?
Weird Childhood Favorites That Hit
SPEAKER_04Dentist is like, you know what? Fuck it. We're gonna go find your wife. Quinn turns to the bigger.
SPEAKER_01So you want me to treat him like the white folk? No, I didn't say that.
SPEAKER_04No, no, you treat him like you know, little whatever. Yeah, treat him like that. He's the special one. I can't remember the word. I just have you seen that movie? No.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's such a great movie. That's the scene where Leo uh actually like he's supposed to like fake break the glass, but he like actually shattered it and fucking died. But acted right through it. Yeah. Uh-huh. Awesome scene. Yeah, there's also super funny uh story where uh apparently Sam L. Jackson, like at first Leo was Leonardo Carey.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I heard that one.
SPEAKER_02Real hesitant, and then he was like, bro, just fucking say the word. Just fucking say it, dude. Like you're an actor. Be fucking professional. And then the next day Leo comes in and like doesn't talk to them at all, treats them like it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I heard that from Jamie Foxx's perspective. He was like a motherfucker walks in and just starts treating us like we are on the plantation. Yeah, he won't talk to us. He was met that acting. He he tells the uh he tells the um casting director to tell us things, like he won't talk to us directly. I was like, damn. Bold.
SPEAKER_04Very, very good movie.
SPEAKER_03Uh now I put this at seven.
SPEAKER_02Does Almoreto go bad?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02Does it go flat?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what it did. It went something.
SPEAKER_03Something in your glass?
SPEAKER_02No, it's just it's not bad. It's just like it doesn't have the spy it doesn't have the spicy that it normally has.
SPEAKER_03Oh really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04It's like Did you have it all the way closed?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah, it could if you left it open, it could have uh the ethanol could have leaked out.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I have it pretty closed, but I mean I don't have it like tight, but well if it it if it's like really old, the ethanol will have will have escaped.
SPEAKER_04It's very small, so it can't be.
SPEAKER_03And then you're drinking far less alcohol.
SPEAKER_02So I'm just drinking sugar.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, sorry to derive.
SPEAKER_04Anyways, one of one of my favorite scenes is uh the clan scene uh where they all this one guy had his wife make all the clan hoodies, like the hoods. And they're all on the horses, and they're just like, I can't see shit out of this thing. Well, the bags were a great idea. They could have been executed better. So I say we go no bags this time, and then next time, we go the bags and the full regalia.
SPEAKER_02I put it at twenty-nine.
unknownGood.
SPEAKER_02You put it at seven. Wow. Honey was closer.
SPEAKER_04Seven pounds. Oh, great movie. This movie will tear your heart out if you watch it for the first time. Very sad movie. Very sad. Will Smith movie. Will Smith is the goat. I don't care what y'all fucking say, you know.
SPEAKER_02I think his rapping career is very funny.
SPEAKER_04His rapping career, he stop it. Um his acting career, stop it.
SPEAKER_02I think it's well what's funny, somebody took that that rap that he did, that really, like, really cheesy one that everybody was was fucking roasting him on. But somebody like took that and put a different beat behind it, and it actually sounded pretty good. It was like, oh, so it was his producer who kind of fucked him over, to be honest. But rap basically he he like did like a mark.
SPEAKER_03He did, but those are old. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_02This was like a 2020, 2021 rap. Yeah, you know. Yeah, he was like getting back into rapping, and so he was like, he was really throwing it down, but it was like not great. It was just that's funny. Like it's kind of like uh if he were to like for like it would be like if you were to go up and be like, my mom's spaghetti, arms, heavy, mom, spaghetti. It's just like, ooh, okay, yeah, it was it that's right. It was like really old school flow on new school rap, but it wasn't working.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02And I went straight down to the puck and I hopped on swing and did a swing. It kind of sounded like this rap. Yeah. Like it it really just wasn't great. But somebody bought the the beat and it was actually pretty decent. So I'm like, yeah, maybe it was the producer.
SPEAKER_04Anyways, seven pounds. I feel like I don't need to explain it. I feel like you should just watch it if you haven't watched it.
SPEAKER_02I put it at 84.
SPEAKER_04Oh shit.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 34.
SPEAKER_02I think it's a really great movie, but I don't think it rates that high on TJ's list. At a top hundred. One eight.
SPEAKER_03Okay, both of you fucked me over because TJ sounded excited and you were like, great movie.
SPEAKER_02Well, he likes Will Smith, and I think it's a great movie, but we're talking about top 100. Spinning the wheel. Watch that be like number three.
SPEAKER_04Chronicle. Chronicle is a movie about three dudes. They all get powers. Um it is a fountain footage movie. Very good fountain footage movie.
SPEAKER_02Three powered is nine, and there's three of them, so nine, so, so yeah. I'm gonna go nine-nine.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm I'm based on your same math. If the math checks out, I'm gonna go 53.
SPEAKER_02Wind was blowing south.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he just checked the wind with his finger for those who couldn't see while we're inside. In an enclosed
Tarantino Stories And Heartbreak Picks
SPEAKER_04room.
SPEAKER_00With the window open. So if there is wind, it's only coming from one way.
SPEAKER_04It's true.
SPEAKER_03It's true. That is what I did.
SPEAKER_04Chronicle, good movie. Watch it. Spin the wheel. Never seen it. You should watch it. Motherfuckers. Number one. No.
SPEAKER_02No, I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_04Is that really the name? Yeah, um MFKZ is it's motherfuckers. Um it is a anime. It's anime inspired. Uh it's a very, very weird animated movie that nobody nobody's fucking seeing this shit. Um, yeah. I don't really want to explain it further. Okay. Okay. I put it at 75.
SPEAKER_03I want 71.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Interesting. One of you is closer. Remember.
SPEAKER_03I doubt that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Spin the wheel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think it's actually 73.
SPEAKER_04I think we were Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04I I have a good feeling. Now, I will say that this is kind of like all of them combined, like into the Spider-Verse, across the Spider-Verse, and then probably the next one's probably gonna be great too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't even know that.
SPEAKER_04The Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse uh is about the person the character Spider-Man, and there is multiple Spider-Man across a multiverse called the Spider-Verse. Uh the main Spider-Man in this movie is Miles Morales. He gains his powers, and then the Peter Parker of their world, the Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02What's his real name? Hmm. What's what's his real name? Oh Spadiganga. Oh god.
SPEAKER_00We saw this guy on the sky on the somebody said somebody said Peter Darker. Oh, you must have sent it to me. Somebody said Peter Darker. That's what they did.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I might have chosen wrong here because I completely botched this one based on the name. Um what's the what's the one where all three Peter Parker's Nohelm, yeah. Oh that was the one. That was the one. Now I put this way up top. Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_02I completely TJ loves this more than that movie.
SPEAKER_03Oh, really?
SPEAKER_02I I know that for a fact. I think I'm pretty sure he believes this is the best Spider-Man movie.
SPEAKER_03But but even with that, I did just the new Spider-Man movie. So tell me though.
SPEAKER_04If you I put on number five. Wait, do you want me to rate the Spider-Man right now?
SPEAKER_03Hold on, no, no, no. The brand new one is the one where all three are in the same yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02That's old now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. That's far from home?
SPEAKER_02Yes. No, no way home. No way home.
SPEAKER_03No way home. So that one, the scene where um second second Peter Parker, I forget Andrew, uh, when he saved MJ. Yeah, yeah, and then he started crying. I mean, I'll tell you straight out.
SPEAKER_02Are you okay?
SPEAKER_03And he's a if I had if I had any feelings, I I would have cried. That's such a sad scene. It was touching.
SPEAKER_02Dude, have you have you rewatched the scene?
SPEAKER_03I watched I watched the movie again because I did not remember that he didn't save her.
SPEAKER_02Did you rewatch that movie?
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02That is a heartbreaking gut-wrenching ending.
SPEAKER_04So when the and I watched it because of that in the movie, she hits the ground, like he doesn't catch her in time. In the comics, he catches her, but the web snaps her spine.
SPEAKER_03So oh wow, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Did you notice the the difference? So from from that movie, from the amazing Spider-Man, I think it was two when she dies, and then from No Way Home, in Amazing Spider-Man 2, he tries to catch her with the web, and he barely isn't able to save her. She she obviously, you know, she hits the ground. In No Way Home, he throws himself and catches her first before doing the web. Yeah. So he learned from it last time. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But but he also had the whole conversation with all of them.
SPEAKER_02He was the only one who didn't save his MJ. Right.
SPEAKER_03Which so that that was my confusion, but I'm glad to know.
SPEAKER_04But they were literally going to introduce MJ. So he was gonna get his MJ.
SPEAKER_03What do you want? Do you want him to rate it right now?
SPEAKER_02I think he was talking about the new Spider-Man movie, but no this one, this one into the Spider-Verse. I think this is the animated one.
SPEAKER_03I think Oh, I did see that one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this is with Miles Morales.
SPEAKER_03I saw that with my son.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think this is number five. I actually think this might be like number eight, but I think I've already put those spots.
SPEAKER_04One of you is closer. It's literally like speed. There's a bus. If the bus slows down below a certain speed, it explodes. Can we reuse this?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I feel like this is one of those movies that's like you should watch it, but like I think this is very mid for TJ. I I put it at 93.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I put it at 49.
SPEAKER_02I feel like this is one of those movies that you watch one time and you're like, cool. And then that's kind of it.
SPEAKER_03I don't. I think anytime TJ passes it by, if it's already on, he watches it. If he's watching if he's scrolling. I don't know. If he's scrolling through, you know, TikTok and someone has a clip of it on, he's like, ah, I want to watch that again.
SPEAKER_02I'll watch a clip of anything on on Instagram or TikTok.
SPEAKER_04Outside. It's a zombie movie. We covered it on the channel. If you haven't heard about it, you should go listen to that episode. This one's in my survive outside. Something, something, something.
SPEAKER_03I put it. I put it close.
SPEAKER_02I put it 25 because I feel like it doesn't rate high for him.
SPEAKER_03Oh wow. I put it twelve.
SPEAKER_02I feel like it doesn't rate as high for him as it would for me. Just because there's a shit ton of movies on here that I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Brother Bear.
SPEAKER_02Spin the wheel, one use closer.
SPEAKER_04Brother Bear. Animated Disney movie. Uh Native American. This guy fucking loves. One of them dies. Uh, and the main character, Keenan, um gets turned into a fucking bear. Yes. After he's straight up gets turned to a bear.
SPEAKER_03I'm fucking ranking this one.
SPEAKER_04And then he becomes a dad. And then he yeah, he just straight up just takes care of another baby bear. Of the he takes care of the cub of the bear he murdered.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Yeah. Because that bear killed. No, I
Powers Found Footage And Spider Verse
SPEAKER_02never watched it. You've never watched Brother Bear? Are you kidding me? And it's got a banger soundtrack, dude. Yeah, incredible soundtrack.
SPEAKER_03Go to one thing you gotta go for Disney, they all have pretty banging soundtracks.
SPEAKER_02But these old Disney movies. The old ones hand drawn. Brother Bear, so underrated. Such a good movie. I know all about Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin. Oh, the Little Mermaid. The moose are my favorite from this movie. They're Canadian.
SPEAKER_00I spy something. Green. Uh tree. Oh, yeah, okay. Your turn. I spy something. Tree. Hey.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, everybody. I'm on my way.
SPEAKER_02Okay, let's not get copyrighted. I put it at 68.
SPEAKER_03Wow. One of us is not even close. I put it at six.
SPEAKER_00You put it at six?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Wow.
SPEAKER_04I don't think this is it as a whole. The way he has talked. Memento. It is a Christopher Nolan movie. I feel like Memento retired. It is about a man who has like a couple minute memory at most, and he has to he's trying to figure out how to murder his wife.
SPEAKER_02I like those movies that like kind of start at the end and piece it together. Yeah, it literally starts at the end. Isn't Wicker Park like that?
SPEAKER_03I don't remember that movie.
SPEAKER_02That's such a my mom kind of movie. That she I swear I think it's called Wicker Park. It's so not relevant, but I think it's like that.
SPEAKER_03There's an old movie way before your guys' time. So like 1980, 1988. It was uh Angel Heart. Yeah, the 1900s.
SPEAKER_02When they were still doing silent films?
SPEAKER_03Do you do you need to see my ID? Or do you need me to take it out? No, it's okay. I could see the one.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, that hurts. Yeah, I wouldn't know, because you know, I'm not old, but you get ID.
SPEAKER_03You never get ID'd.
SPEAKER_02I never get ID'd, and it's honestly frustrating. It's it's rough. I'm like, aren't you supposed to ID if I look under 40? What the fuck?
SPEAKER_03I was like, I didn't I didn't help him at all because he asked me that question. I was like, well, it's under 35. He was like, are you saying I look over 35?
SPEAKER_02That's not better. That's worse, actually. I put memento at 37.
SPEAKER_03I put memento at 17. Tell me I'm closer.
SPEAKER_02I just feel like I never hear him talk about it. So I can't imagine if you're gonna be able to do it. Why do you use closer?
SPEAKER_03I'm closer.
SPEAKER_02I think you misheard him. Probably because you're age.
SPEAKER_04Maddie isn't too much of a weed brownie, and she's just too high over here. Um Skyfall. It's one of the 007 films. I believe it's the best one. I think Skyfall. And then No Time to Die. And then Quantum of Solace. I put this Casino Royale. I put this at 19.
SPEAKER_03Did you just rate all of the what's his name? Daniel Craig?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But do you not watch any of the others?
SPEAKER_02Craig Bond is my Bond. There's like 50,000 James Bond movies.
SPEAKER_03You don't like the older movies? All of the older James Bond movies? Wow, really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. There's like seven billion of them, guys. I put Skyfall at 19.
SPEAKER_03Fuck. I put it at 64.
SPEAKER_02So I only put people in our fucking left, dude. They're like, what? I only put it at 19 because of one reason. Adele made a song called Skyfall and shoes on the soundtrack, and I know he fucking loves Adele. So I feel like that brings the movie up quite a bit. Big Adele fan over here. Great song.
SPEAKER_04Cozy's howling. Like I said, brother, I would drag my balls through 800 meters of broken lemon encrusted glass just to smell her shadow in a dark room. Adele, hit me up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I don't know what any of it meant other than just dragging.
SPEAKER_02What shadow in the dark room?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I think he said a similar thing where he was like, I something along the lines of like, I would go through the long walk just to smell the balls that that Adele came out of. Something like that.
SPEAKER_03I think I remember that one.
SPEAKER_04Just to taste what she's made of. Anyways, spin the whip. Crazy. Spin in the wheel. And gets you nowhere. Watch. It is a I won't. Found fur found footage, but it is from a body cam POV for most of the movie, I believe. Um it has Jake Gyllenhaal and uh movie. I remember two LAPD officers and their you know what they're doing through their day.
SPEAKER_02I want to watch that. I've never seen it, but the clips are so funny.
SPEAKER_04Dude, it's a good ass movie.
SPEAKER_02I'm moving it because I had it really low, but I feel like you'd put it higher.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. I'm sticking with mine.
SPEAKER_02I had it at 89, I'm putting it at 49.
SPEAKER_03Fuck, I had it at 92 and I left it at 92.
SPEAKER_02I think I think it was much higher. I mean, I've just heard a lot about this movie, and I think I talked with TJ recently about this movie. Yep. Spin in the wheel. Spin in the wheel. It. Hmm.
SPEAKER_04This goes this is the new one. This goes for part one and part two.
SPEAKER_03Okay, but I'm going bold here.
SPEAKER_02I'm pretty solid on this. I said 30.
SPEAKER_03Fuck. I went eleven.
SPEAKER_02I again this is just I feel like TJ's never talked about it to me. Like he's never brought it up.
SPEAKER_04It is about a cosmic being that looks like a clown that feeds on children's fear.
SPEAKER_03And only comes back how often?
SPEAKER_04Is a magical fucking turtle. It also has a child bad thing in there. I can't remember. You put me on the spot. I can't remember how often he comes back. Yeah, something like that. Yeah. Spin the wheel. Spin the wheel. Spin in the wheel! Jumper. Jumper is one of those movies you've probably seen on the fucking FX channel. Yep. A hundred percent. That's the best description of this movie. It's about it's one of those movies, dude. It's just it's good ass. It's like, you know, you sit down and watch it on FX.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's one of those movies that like you do need commercials in between, actually.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I can teleport, and there's a fucking magical society. Uh or not a magical just a society of people who are like, you live in a society. You're not God. Only God can be in all places at once. Is I believe what uh is it Samuel Jackson in that one? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Careful. Uh I put it at eight or nine.
SPEAKER_03Damn.
SPEAKER_02Again, this is an FX movie.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 79.
SPEAKER_02Valid. One of you closer. Then again, the Iron Man movies are on FX.
SPEAKER_04True. Ant Bully. Ant Bully is an animated movie about a kid who is being a real dickhead to the ant hill in his yard. So they the ants in there who are sentient uh put a magical potion into his ear and shrink him down to
Disney Nostalgia And Memory Thrillers
SPEAKER_04the size of an ant. Then he learns the ways of the ant.
SPEAKER_02I feel like TJ would rate this higher, but I'm gonna put it at a hundred. So valid. Spin the wheel.
SPEAKER_04One of these closer. I feel like it was a hundred.
SPEAKER_03Dune!
SPEAKER_04Not the old piece of shit ones, the new ones. This counts for all.
SPEAKER_03New one is a piece of shit.
SPEAKER_02The new one is great. Yeah, I don't know. I feel like you're in the minority on that one. I haven't seen them, but there's a lot of hype around them.
SPEAKER_03It should be a fucking series.
SPEAKER_02I can make it.
SPEAKER_03The books are too fucking intense to be able to pack it into a fucking movie box.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so here's the other thing. Part one, part two, and part three. I've heard people talk about Dune and say like they're kind of glad that the movies don't do that because they're like, there's a lot of talk. Much lore in the Dune world that they're like, if you were to really try to explain this, this would be like a fucking 19 season fucking show. It would be brilliant! No, everybody. Somebody would lose interest after after two seasons.
SPEAKER_04The reason they're so obsessed with this fucking sand planet is because of the fucking crack that's in the sand, right? Yeah. The spice. They have the spice is because if you do a large amount of it, which they have like particular navigators who do, they do a large amount, and that helps them navigate through space. Which they you know, oh, why don't they use computers? Because there was a computer like AI uprising before the books even like started, so they completely banned like technology like that.
SPEAKER_03They kept everything else the same, right? Like everybody's in a suit where they completely recycle all of their own water, all of their own fluids. Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_04And Zende is in it. Yeah, Shamami is in it.
SPEAKER_02This is a pretty star-setted cast. Robert Pattinson is in it. He's in the new one. He's in the third one, yeah. In the new one that it's about to come out. Robert Pattinson is suddenly in everything right now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, right. Dude, I fucking love Robert Prunts and he's a new dealer. It's not the guy. One of his movies is on here.
SPEAKER_03Well, I put it up high at 32.
SPEAKER_04I put it at 20. Valid. When he was closer. Martian. The Martian. It is about Matt Damon, and he is lost somewhere again. Uh always getting lost. He's on Mars this time, and he colonizes Mars. And he in order to stay home, he has to use his poop in order to make potatoes. He's a botanist, right? He's a botanist. Um, I put this at 28.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 23.
SPEAKER_04Hmm. Close answers, close answers.
SPEAKER_03To each other or to the right ones.
SPEAKER_04He's like, yeah, it's 73. No country for old men. Uh this is a movie uh about things. You should just watch it. I'm not gonna tell you about it. This is a movie.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I put it at 90.
SPEAKER_03Oh crap. I put it at 62.
SPEAKER_02I just feel like it's not in our generation. Not that a lot of these movies are necessarily, but I just feel like this is one of those like it's good, but I don't know if it like takes a high number.
SPEAKER_04How much have you ever lost in a coin toss?
SPEAKER_02How much have I?
SPEAKER_04It's a it's a it's from the movie. Oh, yeah, I don't fucking know. Yeah, he doesn't know it. Basically, there's a serial like killer in it. Um and he goes in this gas station and he's like, How much have you ever lost on a coin toss? He's like, What? And he's like, How much he's like, yeah. And um he's like, Alright, and then he like flips the coin and he's like, Call it. And dude's like, I need to know what I'm calling on. Like what you know, what am I what do I have to win? And dude's like, everything. He's like, everything. And then uh it lands on whatever, and then like he doesn't kill him because it doesn't land on fucking tails. And he's like, This is your lucky coin. Keep it. Don't put it in your pocket. Cause then it'll be like any other coin.
SPEAKER_02Anyways, Harvey Dent.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, pretty much.
SPEAKER_02Uh Midsummer! Um mid. I'm gonna put it at 50.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna put it at 93.
SPEAKER_04I've never seen it, so it's it's it's uh it's uh it's some. It's made by the guys who made hereditary. I'm not gonna explain it to anybody because if you haven't seen it, you should watch it and uh make your own opinions. I won't. Unless you pick it for the podcast. I might pick it for the podcast. Spin the wheel.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 93.
SPEAKER_04Rango, not to be confused with Django. Rango's in my top ten. Ringo of Rango. A film where Johnny Depp is a fucking chameleon, an animated chameleon. Uh, and he f stumbles upon this small town of animals, like western style. And there's this guy, Rattlesnake Jake, and he bec Rango becomes a sheriff and he has to defend the town. And they're ne they need water.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. This is the desert movie. Yeah. This storyline is every desert plot ever.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, every every always like you know, man with no name type beat.
SPEAKER_02Well, every time it's like desert town, they're low on water, it's the plot of Rango. Every time.
SPEAKER_04It's basically that one town from uh The Book of Eli? Book of Eli. That's literally, that's literally It's fucking Rango. It's fucking Rango, dude. Except without Jesus. Yeah. It's a lordless movie. Rango's lordless movie.
SPEAKER_02I I gen I genuinely love Rango. Love Rango, dude. Such a discount with the sauce. I I put Rango at 22 for you.
SPEAKER_03It's in my top 10, though. When we were up north, I got the kids to watch it.
SPEAKER_02It's so good. You know how they acted it, right?
SPEAKER_03How well I know how he how Johnny Depp did.
SPEAKER_02They all did.
SPEAKER_03They all did?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02They were not like just in a booth, like doing voice lines. No, they every scene they acted out. So like when Rango is standing up on that platform, giving that big monologue, Johnny Depp was in a room with the actors who play those voices, standing on a box, giving that monologue as Rango. And that was how they captured all the dialogue for the movie. Just really cool because like you really didn't have to do that.
SPEAKER_03He had like diodes, electrodes all over him. They were monitoring all of his movements. Everything was was based on him.
SPEAKER_02It's so cool.
SPEAKER_03It's a great whole animation was based on his movement. Now I put this at 24.
SPEAKER_04I put this at 22. You know what's better than 24?
SPEAKER_0225.
SPEAKER_0425. When are you
Cops Clowns Teleporters And Sandworms
SPEAKER_04closer? Spin will.
SPEAKER_02Spongebob joke.
SPEAKER_04It's a what?
SPEAKER_02It's a Spongebob joke.
SPEAKER_04Oh. Hunger Games, this is all of them. As a series. I'm not gonna lie, I don't think they rate that high. Uh if you haven't watched Hunger Games, you're what what were you doing in the 2010s? Yeah. For real.
SPEAKER_02You're telling me you didn't go to the theater and see her shoot her arrow at the dome in the second movie, and then it the helicopter comes in and then it all goes to black, and you didn't have a whole theater going. What the fuck? That was a crazy time. I remember that.
SPEAKER_03You missed the night the 2000s.

SPEAKER_04Oh, Jennifer Lawrence. 100 miles of broken glass. Wow. Spin the wheel.
SPEAKER_02He's very funny.
SPEAKER_04Zombieland. Uh uh Mark Zuckerberg and a guy needed needs a Twinkie.
SPEAKER_03I freaking love that you just called him that.
SPEAKER_02But he played Mark Zuckerberg in. Yeah, he did.
SPEAKER_03Mark Zuckerberg did a good job.
SPEAKER_04A Twinkie guy and Stacey from Amazing Spider-Man, all creature in a zombie world.
SPEAKER_02Every clip that I see of him as Mark Zuckerberg makes me hate him. Like that movie is fucked up.
SPEAKER_03Oh, wait a minute, wait a minute. Uh you didn't name um Abigail Dreslin. She was also in what was the other zombie movie that she did? Uh Maggie.
SPEAKER_04Maggie. Oh, okay. Mark Zuckerberg, Twinkyman, Gwen Stacy, and Forgettable Bitch all go on an adventure. Not forgettable. I don't know her fucking name.
SPEAKER_03I didn't really help the case, did I? Oh, what's her name? Or I knew her name, but I well, what was the movie?
SPEAKER_02To be fair, yeah, she was the least famous of the three actors.
SPEAKER_04Basically, go on an adventure in a zombie world. Anyway, spin the wheel. When he was closer.
SPEAKER_03Wait, do we say where we were?
SPEAKER_02Oh, I put no, I don't think we did. I put it at 24.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 33.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Creed! This goes for all of them. There's three of them. Okay, well, if there's three of them, uh, I'm gonna put it at 33.
SPEAKER_03Putting it at 48.
SPEAKER_04Creed is about it is a spin-off or continuation of the Rocky series. Yeah. Um, and it follows Apollo Creed's Forgotten Son.
unknownRocky.
SPEAKER_05Adonis Creed.
SPEAKER_04Pretty much. They do play the song the da da when he's gonna be. That's not Michael J.
SPEAKER_02Fox, right?
SPEAKER_04Huh?
SPEAKER_02Is that Michael J. Fox?
SPEAKER_04You mean Michael B. Jordan?
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Michael three named nigga? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, it was a black guy with three names, his name is Michael. Come on.
SPEAKER_03But Michael J. Fox isn't even a Marty McFly.
SPEAKER_02Who the fuck is Michael Fox?
SPEAKER_03Marty McFly or uh God, you are way too young to know all the names that I know. Alex Keaton for all of our. Oh, yeah, this is not who I thought it was at all. Alex P. Keaton. Oh, he's Canadian.
SPEAKER_04I'm kidding. Don't make fun of a guy who has fucking the one. Also, some quick trivia for the chat. I did mean Michael B. Jordan.
SPEAKER_03What are what was his name in uh The Frighteners?
SPEAKER_04Uh Michael B. Fox.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, the character name.
SPEAKER_04Johnny B good. My friend Elmo. Spinning the wheel. Zathora! It's Jumanji in space.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um it's based off a book which is made by the same person who made Jumanji. So it's literally Jumanji in space.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go for mostly nostalgia purposes, 70.
SPEAKER_03Oh, damn. I went 59.
SPEAKER_04One use closer. Spin the wheel. The Pursuit of Happiness. Another Will Smith movie. Forgot I put the first time.
SPEAKER_02This is like, in my opinion, this is right on par with seven pounds.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Dude, he was on a fucking generational run in the early 2000s, dude. Yeah, he was.
SPEAKER_02I think personally this one rates higher to me. This is but it doesn't make me so sad.
SPEAKER_04This one is the world trying to fight for his son.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this one is actually like kind of heartwarming. And like I like that scene where uh he goes into the interview with like covered in paint and all that, or he gets arrested uh and then gets let out.
SPEAKER_03What would you do if you were interviewing a man who came in without a shirt? He better be wearing some hell of a nice pair of pants.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I like how he like crazy just I don't know. That whole movie I think it's a really good movie. I put it at 64.
SPEAKER_03I put it at 26.
SPEAKER_04Nice, nice, nice, nice, nice. One of you is closer. I feel like it might be you that time. You'll not you'll never know. Mitch the The Mitchells versus the Machines.
SPEAKER_02Fucking 90s. Wait a minute.
SPEAKER_03So many What do you mean that we'll never know?
SPEAKER_04You'll never know.
SPEAKER_03How will we never know?
SPEAKER_04We'll never know until the end. He never means what he says. You'll never know. The Mitchells versus the Machines is a animated movie. Very beautiful animation. I'm a sucker for good animation. Um, and it is about an AI takeover. Well, he said he's a sucker for it, so I'm not buying it.
SPEAKER_02I put it at 57.
SPEAKER_03Nope, I I'm putting it at 98 interesting.
SPEAKER_04Until the end. Your name, it's an anime movie. And I do mean anime. Uh your name
Western Lizards Zombies And Final Spins
SPEAKER_04is kinda wild. So basically, uh there's this like a meteor, right? And it hits this town. Uh, and you know, it's all over the news. And this kid falls asleep and then wakes up in this girl's body. Right. And she falls asleep, wakes up in his. And then like eventually they, you know. It's very it's a very cute little love story. Yeah. A big nigga can like romance.
SPEAKER_02Fuck y'all. Yeah, you ever heard girls talk about the first thing they would do if they woke up as a guy? They're no better than us. Oh, he immediately looked at her titties. Yeah, they had a helicopter. They were helicopter. Yeah, which is completely valid.
SPEAKER_04I've looked at videos, and they're like, I want to see how much I can stack on it. Like donuts. Oh, they're gonna be so disappointed.
SPEAKER_02One spin the wheel. Look, donuts are a little thicker than you would think, okay? They were cake donuts, okay?
SPEAKER_04They're really they're really poppy.
SPEAKER_02I was just looking at this one, like, where would I put it?
SPEAKER_04This is a prequel to Creed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Where'd where'd I put Creed? I would have put this at 48. Although I feel like this goes lower, but I'm gonna put it at 48. I put it at 51. Oh, pretty close. Okay, speeding your wheel. Boxing, but he's a white guy. The book of Eli.
SPEAKER_04If you don't know what the book of Eli is, you should go listen to our podcast episode on it. I think I'm gonna put this Blind Denzel Washington is in a post-apocalyptic world. And he's trying to spread the Bible. Well, isn't that a fucking spoiler? Because don't you like to kind of not find out he's blind till the end?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but also the movie came out in like 2010. So yeah, I guess fucking idiots. I put it at 32. Shit.
SPEAKER_03Uh I put it at 27.
SPEAKER_02At this also, at this point, we've explained every movie. If they think we're gonna get to the book of Eli and then not explain the plot of it, what? Spoilers ahead. From now on Monster House.
SPEAKER_04Animated movie. I got a lot of animation.
SPEAKER_03I love this movie.
SPEAKER_04I think Monster House is dope. It is a beautiful little animated movie from like 2006 or some shit. Uh, and there's the this kid, and he is next to his neighbor across the street, is in this creepy ass house that likes to eat eat kids. Crazy.
SPEAKER_02You know some you know some people get really freaked out. Get off my lawn! You know, some people get really freaked out by the animation style of this movie.
SPEAKER_03It's uh it's a uh psychological effect because the characters are the uncanny valley, they are too close to resemble they're too close to resembling a real human, but too far away. It's at the the sweet spot where it messes with your brain, where it could almost be real, but not.
SPEAKER_02I like the scene uh of the guy who uh he's like playing the arcade machine, and he like runs away, and then he comes back and just shoves the candy bar in his mouth and runs away again.
SPEAKER_04Do you want to die? No, to get out of here! Go, go!
SPEAKER_02Spin the wheel. One of you is closer. We didn't say I put it at 40.
SPEAKER_03Um, where did I put it? I put it at 41.
SPEAKER_02Iron Lung.
SPEAKER_03Iron Lung. New one. Okay, I'm going ballsy on this one.
SPEAKER_02I think you're gonna be surprised.
SPEAKER_03I'm putting it at 46. Oh, maybe not. I'm locked in.
SPEAKER_02I put this at 52. I put it at 52 because I remember talking to TJ about it when it came out and he saw it. And I was like, You think it's worth it? Like, I I worry, like, what if the whole time I'm just like it's markiplier? And he was like a hand heart. He was like, I feel uh I remember TJ telling me, like, I feel like he did a good job, but like it's still markiplier. And I was like, okay. And I think that's pretty accurate. Yeah. But then again, you've also watched it like nine times.
SPEAKER_04I don't know. I'm gonna stick with that. I watched it in theaters and then I watched it like three other times after that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that kind of I don't know, I put it at 52. Pin the wheel? Yeah, I feel like I should have put it above Monster House, but Surfs Up.
SPEAKER_04Oh good. This movie came out June 8th, 2006. It's about surfing penguins and also a chicken that surfs.
SPEAKER_02Oh, dude, this is such a great movie.
SPEAKER_04And it's also like it's one of those movies where they like make a sequel and like you know it's gonna be horrendous. And the sequel for this, they did a tie-in with WWE fucking like John Cena penguins and shit. I hate it. But I love this movie to death. It has such character.
SPEAKER_02This was a mockumentary style movie.
SPEAKER_04Mockumentary.
SPEAKER_02But animated.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they had like the little uh you know, interviews and shit in between. You know, then this is my girl Sasha. And he needs like all his trophies. You know what we call her Brittany, right?
SPEAKER_02I haven't seen that movie in so long, but I I do I put Surfs Up and Happy Feet kind of in similar groups.
SPEAKER_04I had Happy Feet until like three years ago.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_03I'm putting it at 31.
SPEAKER_04When everybody was watching Happy Feet, I was watching Surfs Up, maybe. I put it at 35. Good.
