Welcome back to the terrifying continuation of "Code Black," where we pick up right after our survivors escaped their initial operating room horror. Armed with nothing but an IV stand and a security guard's baton, they now face a hospital transformed into a labyrinth of death and mystery.

What started as a routine medical procedure has spiraled into something far more sinister. The facility is crawling with "gurglers"—zombies that emit a deadly pink mist from their mouths where organs grotesquely hang. Most horrifying are the infected children, whose small bodies can't contain the infection, causing them to explode when approached.

The stakes rise dramatically when the hospital PA system crackles to life with a message from Dr. Eris Thorne, broadcasting from "sub-level three"—revealing the existence of secret underground floors. Simultaneously, metal grates seal all exits, trapping our survivors inside. What kind of hospital has lockdown protocols and hidden subterranean laboratories?

When armed personnel arrive, they shoot first and ask questions never. Our survivors sustain multiple injuries in the ensuing firefight but manage to overcome their attackers, collecting valuable security access cards for the mysterious sub-levels. Okay, so for those who haven't heard the last episode, basically they were on the top floor of a hospital. They woke up, they were on the operating table. Their appendix was just about to be cut off. Like it was already clamped and everything. They were gonna cut it off or whatever. Woke up, room was covered in blood. Uh it took them 45 minutes. They finally exited the room after doing all the proper medical care to their bodies that they needed to, so they didn't get an infection. That was they then ran into the big bad of the story, my zombies. I'm not sure what I'm gonna call them yet. Let's just call them zombies. Um, gurglers, I think it was one of them. Uh Zekes, they emit a pink mist from their front where their organs are hanging out of their mouth. Uh yeah. Yeah, so they escaped that. They ended up in a room. Uh, that room had a security guard uh in the middle. It was he was dead. Uh there was a room on the right where they could have gotten a flashlight and a gun, but they were smart. They missed it. And we said no. Um, their only weapon was their IV spirit. We missed it, like the pink missed. I hate you. You see what I did there? You see what I did there? The um they stole the security guard shit. He left them but butterball ass naked on the floor. Uh they have He wasn't gonna need it. They have a baton, they have their IV stand, they have handcuffs, they have oh, a map of the building, but only for the top floor. Um, am I missing anything that you can remember?

We went into a stairwell and we were looking to see it our way down, but it's collapsed.

Yeah, the stairwell is collapsed from the second floor down.

So they second floor, okay.

They could only be on the third floor, and that's where the pediatric ward and all like the kid ward shit, baby ward, whatever, it's all on that floor. Uh when they made it to that floor, they realized that there are multiple types of zombies. Uh, and when a child is infected with this virus, um, or infection, or whatever the fuck it is, um their little bodies can't stand it. Uh their organs expanding, because usually it'll go out their mouth, but they can't stand it and they explode into a pink mist. Um, there was hundreds of them. Uh, and I believe you were running, got glass in your feet because you were barefoot. Okay, I remember that. And just right at the end of that. Security guard was like a size eight. You threw something. That's right. I think you threw the baton. Wait, what happened? Why did we throw it?

Encountering a New Survivor

I'm not gonna lie, because now things aren't really uh clicking too hard with me. I feel like I got tired at the end of this episode.

At the very end of the episode, it ends on a cliffhanger. They throw the baton at the head of the child zombie, or the one that's closest. Because there's a lot chasing. Um that won't open. We threw a baton at a kid to try to they tried to initiate the explosion prematurely, so it didn't get to them.

And that that's that's where we end, because they they rolled a dice, I think. A die. Um Well, what did we roll? To determine. I I I remember what happened, like, because I don't remember what you rolled, but I know that it had a certain I feel like I rolled a nine. I don't think I rolled well. I think it had a certain op like. Whatever's gonna happen is happening. Because that's it was in my brain for so long. I knew what was gonna happen.

Let's do this. What was that noise? Sound like an explosion coming from the floor below us. Maybe I should go check that out. Eric, you're on the floor above the third floor in the stairwell.

You go down to check where that explosion is. I'm on the fourth floor. You are on the floor above the third floor in a stairwell. Uh, most people would say fourth floor. Um, do I do I do I know what's going on at all? Uh you have somewhat of a knowledge of what is happening. Oh, right. Just not what's happening down there.

Gotcha. So I hear an explosion. Yeah, I do want to cautiously go down the stairwell if I can, and I kind of want to peer in through the glass and see if I can see what's going on, but I want to be cautious.

As you take your first step down the stairs, bang! Giant explosion. You hear the door on the floor below you shoot back and hit the stairs.

Okay. Uh it got blown off. Can I see anything?

SPEAKER_04 7:19

I mean, you're still on the stairs. Do you continue on? Um, hold what do I hear? You hear rubble falling, you hear groaning.

I'm gonna hug the wall closely and slowly start walking down. I I just want to see if I could kind of peer in and see what's happening.

SPEAKER_04 7:37

Uh, as you walk down the stairs, you're you know, getting real, you know, real slick with it. You're trying to look around so you don't get spotted by something or you know, whatever. And you see what looks like a security guard with no shoes on.

Um, do am I in a stairway that goes down any any further?

Uh you you I mean you haven't checked.

I I look around. Does it look like I can go down further?

Okay, I'm gonna call out. Uh uh, is there anything between me and the security guard? Does he even know I exist?

Uh I you're looking and he looks unconscious or dead.

And are there any are there any Z's around? Uh there are no Zeds, but you see a bunch of rubble past the door that he's laying next to.

Okay, I'm gonna kinda slink my way over towards the security guard. I'm gonna check him for a gun. Uh, you start checking the security guard and he moves. Oh, come on. Okay, I take my hands out of his pockets. They definitely weren't there.

It looks as though he's alive. But his whole shit. His whole left side is singed and burned in the coat that he's wearing is melted into his skin. You know that the pink mist that comes from these zombies can infect people. Oh no. Do I know of any way to stop that? Uh, earlier in the day, when it started, you've seen a guy cut off a limb to save himself. Is this burn just on his arm or is it like it's it's on his arm, yeah.

Alright, buddy. Uh, we're gonna be okay. I'm going to kind of military get underneath his uh his uh sh armpits with my with my arms and kind of start walking backwards, dragging him uh kind of away from the rubble. Is there a room nearby that looks like it might have something sharp? Uh a minute.

SPEAKER_04 9:40

Like some sort of you can go up the stairs or down the stairs. Oh, okay. I'm no longer on the floor. Um you're he he got blown into the stairwell. So you're in the stairwell.

SPEAKER_02 9:52

I see, I see. Okay.

You can't go through the door that he came through because it's collapsed.

SPEAKER_02 9:58

I see. Oh fuck. Do I have anything on me? Do I have a machete or something? Do you want to check for that? Yeah, sure. I'm gonna check. What do I got on me?

The Hospital Lockdown

You check your bag, you have a little mini Barbie flashlight that you crank in order to use.

You have a fire axe. Hmm. Okay. Do I have a wearing you have a lighter? You're wearing jeans, uh, jean jacket, and a jean shirt.

Uh he seems to be like when you're moving him around, he seems to like he's there. Like he's not dead. He's making noises and stuff, but okay, but he is he's out though.

He's out. Sick. I'm gonna take off my belt if I have one. You do have a belt. I'm gonna really tightly uh tourniquet his shoulder. Okay. You do that. Uh I'm gonna pull out the joint out of my pocket and I'm gonna light that up and take a couple hits. You light the joint and start smoking it. Yeah.

I'll save the roach for you. Nice. Um, and I I'm gonna grab my fire axe and I'm gonna start lining up the hit. Um, but I'm not gonna lie, I don't feel like I've done this before, so I'm gonna really hesitate here as I kind of mentally prepare myself, kind of hoping that maybe I don't have to do this.

I mean you could. But as you guys are talking, a sound of a faint crackling alarm followed by a sudden jarring screech of feedback from the PA system happens. A man's voice comes through. Attention hospital staff and remaining patients. This is Dr. Eris Thorne. I am transmitting from a secured lab on sub-level three. The doors are sealed and they're not getting in. Right as you say that. All the doors and windows lock down with metal grates.

So I was just here uh for a uh for a uh a measles shot. Um what kind of hospital is this?

Armed Confrontation with SWAT Team

This is just a regular hospital. We take in pediatric patients. Uh on the fifth floor is the operating room.

Yeah, I don't know many hospitals that um lock down and have sublevels.

Well, um, most hospitals have sublevels. That's where they keep the morgues.

I don't know anything about that. I don't even know who that doctor is. For all I know, he's not even a real doctor.

Or we could get out of here because they're coming. Okay, well do we go towards? Well, here's the concern. Uh, we go towards the gunshot, and they're probably gonna do to us what you were gonna do to me. Can you walk? Can I walk?

Uh your arm's cooked. Uh it's your left arm, it's pretty burnt and uh crispy. Uh lots of acid burns all over it. Your legs are fine. Uh other than the glass that was in your feet. Um there's probably still a little bit in there. Um, and the rest of your body's fine, other than the scar where you're you cut out your appendix.

So on this level, really there would be a nursing station, and the nurse's station would have some basic medical supplies. I need to take care of this arm and this wound, otherwise, we're not gonna move very far very fast. Okay. I'm gonna need your help, and you can't leave without me because I know how to get around in this place.

Okay, well, I was hanging tight on the fourth floor. Um, if we want to check that or any anything to help you. Um I don't think you can move very much right now. Where where would these supplies be? Do you know on the fourth floor?

So I want to check my memory. Um, what do I know about this level? And where could I get medical supplies?

Well, you know that the level you're on, you're currently in the staircase. The door next to you is completely unable to be used. There's rubble everywhere. That goes to the floor. So that's a no-go. Uh and you know that the floor below you is just like a general hospital floor. It's it's gonna be the second floor.

We gotta check the second floor. That's where I remember the supplies will be.

Okay. Um Is that where is y'all y'all going to the second floor? Yeah, can you walk?

Um yeah, yeah, we peek in. You peek in through the glass and you see what looks like some sort of SWAT team member or something. Not he's he's very heavily geared up. Uh headlamp on his head, and he's shooting down people. Okay. What look like people.

It looks as though he's by himself.

Okay. You wait here. Where would where would this medical box thing be? Front desk?

I don't think we should do that. I think we should check. What do you mean? We should check to see what what is this guy's purpose here? Is he here to kill everything and everybody? Or is he only killing those things?

Yeah, that's I was I wasn't even gonna talk to him. Don't you worry. I don't want to go towards the big scary guy with the gun.

I feel like you're very injured. And um, I know I've smoked a little bit already, but I feel like we should just grab the box and but we can't get by him without being noticed.

As you're talking, you hear level two clear heading up to the third.

The door swings away.

I'm backing away towards the stairs, and I'm gonna ask him for help. You get down!

I peek around the door. I'm I'm ready if it seems like he's gonna shoot.

I'll comply. I'll get down on my knees. I'm asking for help.

We've got a civilian here, and uh, you know, you hear them. But sir, he's not infected. All right, I guess he pulls the gun up and drives.

I put the axe down on him.

You smack him, hits him right in the back of the neck. He drops thud. He continue to swing on him.

Okay, okay. Okay. I very shakily start uh going for his shoes. I'm just on autopilot now.

And I don't put the shoes on, but I take the shoes with me and we hobble our way to the nurse's station.

Yeah, we go to the nurse's station. I am very shaky. I'm making it hard for you to walk. You yunk his shoes, that's it.

Um no, we gotta uh we gotta Okay, here's what we gotta do. Oh, I grab his gun. You grab his gun, I use the axe like a cane.

Mmm. Okay. You take his gun.

Yeah, I'm a I'm a very shook person with a gun right now. Take his shoes. You wanna take anything else? You searching them?

I mean, other than the fact that yeah, we gotta search him, but other than the fact that you like decapitated him and made his uniform very, very gross. Um you might want to put it on and look like one of them.

Okay. I I start undoing his bulletproof vest and his uh I assume he has a vest on. He uh he has all the all the kit you would think that would be on a uh I start undoing his fatigues and everything, and uh they're very bloody.

They're very this is gross. They're they're very bloody and torn up. Uh one of the straps on the uh bulletproof vest is a little shredded, so it's kind of hanging a little loose. Um as you are taking his clothes off and you know, searching his body, you find a blue key card. That's what we want. Okay, I hand that sub-level four.

Uh I'm going through the the rest of his belongings. Um I just want to grab like uh his spare ammo. Um, if he has like some sort like kind of store it wherever you would store it.

He said that was clear.

Yeah, you check for ammo. He has from what you can see ten rounds in the one that's in the gun, probably plus one in the chamber. Uh, and he has one extra in the uh the mag uh on his hip. Okay.

Um I'm gonna let you get dressed. He said this floor is clear.

I but I feel like they're gonna come for him.

I'm gonna go in the nurse's station. I've gotta take care of this arm, I've gotta take care of these burns and my feet and get these shoes on. So I'm gonna go do that while you're getting dressed.

Okay. Um I I kind of drag the body out of the stairwell in into the like the main floor area, and I'm gonna start uh getting dressed, kind of like off into a corner-ish, so that if someone walks in, they wouldn't like immediately see me.
