Speaker 1:

Hello survivors and welcome to. I'll call it a half episode of Will you Survive, the podcast. There's only one voice.

Speaker 2:

That's right.

Speaker 1:

Unfortunately, TJ is a party animal and is out doing God knows what.

Speaker 2:

With God knows who.

Speaker 1:

With God knows who, he's actually celebrating our freedom, which you know, I guess. On that note happy 4th of July everybody.

Speaker 1:

Happy 4th of July. We are recording this on the 4th of July. This will come out on the 5th of July. Part of the reason that we're recording this the day before and that it will come out, uh, is because, quite honestly, I didn't have the energy to edit anything this week. If I'm being very truthful, it was a really, really bad week for both me and tj for a lot of reasons, um. So, yeah, we just didn't get around to that, but we thought it's a holiday week anyways. So we'll kind of take it easy and I thought it would be really fun if we sat down and talked about some of our favorite episodes from the past to recommend people go take a listen to.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we have all these new survivors that are joining us who maybe haven't gone all the way back and listened to all of the episodes from the beginning Dawn of the Dead which is probably where I'm going to land but we have so many good movies that we've done. We've got so many episodes under us. We've been doing this since August of 2023. So we're working on a year right now. So we're very grateful for all of you survivors who've come along and joined us and you're killing it with the downloads and helping us out spread the survival word, and so we're very grateful. We just wanted to take a few minutes today to tell you some of our favorites.

Speaker 1:

So, to get it started, let's just jump into it. What's your? Do you have a favorite episode?

Speaker 2:

yeah, my favorite episode is dawn of the dead. Will you survive dawn of the dead?

Speaker 1:

figures. Favorite movie it is my favorite movie yeah, yeah, figures it's completely fictional.

Speaker 2:

It's not real, couldn't happen what couldn't not, absolutely not, could not happen no way there are no such things as fast zombies.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, that's where we get stopped at.

Speaker 2:

That's exactly right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, everything else up to that point is pretty solid.

Speaker 2:

It was also my favorite episode because that's the one where you and I got the most colorful.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I guess so Well, actually, in this most recent After Hours maybe, or was it the episode no?

Speaker 2:

that was the episode people got to see a little dynamic between us. We could get into some good arguments and then we just move on yeah, but you know it's like dane cook said. It's like uh dad just hit mom at the dinner table and we're all still trying to eat well, awkward, you move on.

Speaker 1:

I hold a grudge. Hold a grudge um I know you're gonna. You're gonna make sure I never win another episode again well, see the thing is, I also told tj that so, but one of you has to win. So you know, it's kind of like you're in a pickle oh man, it's like this upcoming election. It's like oh eeny, meeny miny, oh eeny meeny miny moe.

Speaker 2:

Right wing, left wing, same bird.

Speaker 1:

Well, my favorite episode, I'm pretty sure, has to be Day Zero.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Because that was also my favorite movie.

Speaker 2:

That was not your favorite movie.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that one's my absolute favorite movie.

Speaker 2:

Okay, you guys you have to go and listen to that episode to understand this and once you do, please bring it back up. We'll talk to you on a tick tock. I'll talk to you on tick tock. Live about it. You'll get the joke after you listen.

Speaker 1:

I mean essentially, one of us didn't watch the movie.

Speaker 2:

One of us.

Speaker 1:

one of us I wonder me and TJ are always the most prepared.

Speaker 2:

What, actually? We'll say that two of us didn't watch the movie. No, no One of us, two out of three didn't watch the movie.

Speaker 1:

So one of us did.

Speaker 2:

Those are the facts One of us did.

Speaker 1:

Either way it's one of us, because me and TJ equal one brain cell, and then because me and TJ equal one brain cell, and then you're the other. So either way, one of us didn't watch this movie, and I think the listeners will be able to rationally come up with who did not watch it, and I think they'll find that it was you.

Speaker 1:

We've got good stuff on the Pinterest. I actually I did use an item from our Pinterest recently.

Speaker 2:

You did.

Speaker 1:

One of our walkers at my work stepped on a really really big piece of glass.

Speaker 2:

You used the first aid kit.

Speaker 1:

I did use the first aid kit, oh wow. So I don't know if he actually used it, because it turns out we were quite literally like two doors down from an urgent care.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

So I think he just walked over there with my first aid kit and I still haven't gotten it back.

Speaker 2:

Oh no.

Speaker 1:

I will get it back, maybe eventually hopefully.

Speaker 2:

Maybe eventually.

Speaker 1:

Hopefully. Okay, that's not my favorite movie, though that is my favorite episode because yeah for the reasons I said before.

Speaker 2:

I wonder, will you let me guess your favorite movie? I think I know?

Speaker 1:

Sure, because I don't know Really. I have some up in the air.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to throw one out and I know, at least for in a genre. I think I've got it for the subgenre.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

Warm Bodies.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay, yeah Okay. Warm Bodies oh, okay, yeah, okay. So funny thing about that movie I think I've said that on the podcast. I for a long time said that's my favorite movie, because I don't know if this is like a very normal thing to do, but I like picked one movie when I was pretty young and I was like that's it, that's my favorite movie and I can't change it. Young and I was like that's it, that's my favorite movie and I can't change it. It's kind of like how you pick your favorite color when you're like four and then going forward you're like well, it's my favorite color, I can't change it's been my favorite color for years it's my favorite, I it would be too big of a change, it would change my personality and I can't do that would change who I am it's too much.

Speaker 1:

It's a pillar of who I am that makes perfect sense.

Speaker 2:

Do you know why? My all-time favorite movie is Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors. That was my favorite movie in like second grade. I know way too young to be watching that movie, but when did I watch Resident Evil? Um, you must have been. I mean, the movie came out in 2002, but you didn't watch it until you were. I would say you were probably about eight, seven, seven that's older than I thought to be honest I mean, that's when you actually knew what you were doing.

Speaker 2:

Like you had walked in and seen me watching it and just like oh, and then walked out. Like you would stand there and watch it and then turn and walk away. I it didn't phase you boring. Yeah, it would. It did not bother you at all, but uh yeah, if it wasn't guitar here, I wasn't interested. That was kind of the thing. It was in guitar here. I wasn't interested that that was kind of the thing it was, uh, or ratchet and clank.

Speaker 1:

I was gonna go with ratchet and clank, but I I thought of the story of me waking you up to we will rock you oh, that's hilarious.

Speaker 2:

No, no, we will rock you. It was um. I love rock and roll that's what it was.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, that's what meant, and I somehow butchered that lyric. That is entirely what I meant.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so what's your favorite movie that we've done?

Speaker 1:

Well, okay, it's a bit of a B movie and I didn't particularly love the beginning of it, but Cube was such a good movie and I think I like it so much because it's so much like that video game killing floor and I I don't know. It's a really cool concept and to see it in movie form and so old it's not like super, super old, but way older than I thought it was and uh, it's just a really it's a pretty fun movie so I have a different kind of question than we've just answered.

Speaker 2:

Which of the movies that we've watched for the podcast that you'd never watched or you never would have watched, that you enjoyed the most?

Speaker 1:

oh well, until that last part, I was going to say night of the living dead oh, you did.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you did not enjoy that, because I was like I never watched it and I never would have watched it Right.

Speaker 1:

And I still wish I didn't watch it Right. Actually, that's not true. I am glad that I watched it, but yeah, it wasn't. It's not quite my forte. Ok, so that's the opposite of my question. Yeah, um well, let's see, I am looking at a list.

Speaker 2:

Here I'll tell you mine which one so the flu. I never would have thought of watching that movie. It's a good one and, in all honesty, that's a movie that I will probably go back to again because I enjoyed it so much.

Speaker 1:

That was a really good one. That one really got my blood boiling at a certain point.

Speaker 2:

It's so good in that regard. Right yeah, and I'm really enjoying the Korean genre. I mean they've done so well from All of Us Are Dead. Train to Busan. I'm weird in this regard. I enjoyed Peninsula. I would not call it a good movie. I wouldn't recommend the viewers to go watch it without knowing that it's just a campy, strange kind of enjoyable movie. It's not a good sequel to Train to Busan in any regard.

Speaker 1:

That animated prequel is pretty good though.

Speaker 2:

That was very creepy I liked that one I also like the animated resident evil oh man, there's one resident evil degeneration.

Speaker 1:

It's my favorite I. That is like honestly like a comfort movie. If I'm ever you know now that I'm thinking about it, it's if I ever get into like an extreme depression over something, that movie ends up coming back out for me like I won't watch it for years and then it'll I'll just start watching god it's so funny you say that because that's why I picked dawn of the dead really it's your comfort movie it is it's?

Speaker 1:

I mean, it's probably a really bad movie to watch if I'm feeling down like that because the ending is hopelessness yeah, yeah, but I mean it's at least they do leave it somewhat vague, because by cinema rules, we didn't watch them die, that's correct. But at the same time it's like, well, they, they left it off on a pretty fatal situation. Yep, so I don't know. I think there's like I go through phases of movies where I'll end up just watching a movie over and over and over. I haven't done that recently. I've been, I've just been watching a lot of youtube. To be honest, I really I'm not a movie or a tv watcher. I've noticed, um, this podcast is the only reason I really watch any movies, which is nice because I do, I do like to watch them, but I I think, uh, technology has ruined my attention span, right, and it's hard for me to sit down and actually just watch a movie.

Speaker 2:

That's because my hands aren't doing anything no, I can just sit and veg and watch. I enjoy it.

Speaker 1:

I can't. My hands need to do something. If I have something to do, then sure. That's why video games keep me preoccupied because my hands are doing something. My brain's focusing on it, versus like a movie. A movie I'm supposed to be paying attention and watching, but my hands just want to do something, so I end up not paying attention before.

Speaker 2:

Before wrapping up here real quick, I wanted to say um, I'm watching this, this thing, every now and again that shows up on tiktok where it's halo all of the cut scenes. You know what I would love someone to do resident evil all of the cut scenes. That would be like an awesome movie I'm sure they have.

Speaker 1:

There's actually like, resident Evil 6 is a pretty popular one because there's four different storylines that you can play. It's four full campaigns, and the cool thing is that all four of them interweave with each other. So there's parts at the end of usually at the end of an act. There's a part where your storyline crosses with another one of the other four or one of the other three storylines, and the way the game would work is it would connect you to a multiplayer session. So there's somebody else who's also playing that part in a different storyline, and so they get to be Ada Wong in the chopper while you're leon and helena down on the ground.

Speaker 2:

So doing leon doing involuntary flips.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, that's just yeah, involuntary, voluntary flips voluntary, voluntary flips that game. Those games are full of acrobatic stunts that you're like why would I ever do that?

Speaker 2:

why I?

Speaker 1:

mean cool, mean cool, but why? It's Capcom? That's why.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, well, with that, I think we should let you all enjoy your hopefully long weekend and make sure you go and download all of our episodes, starting with the very beginning, and continue on through. Tell us which one is your favorite. Please let us know, either on TikTok, instagram, facebook, pinterest. Will you Survive the Podcast? Speaker 1:

All right, well, yeah, like you said, go check out those episodes, particularly the ones that we mentioned.

Speaker 2:

Day Zero and Dawn of the Dead.

Speaker 1:

And Cube. I think Cube's a good one too.

Speaker 2:

Those three are pretty good, I'd go check those out if you kind of want to get a vibe of what we're doing here. But I actually liked uh, I did like the mist a lot and the viewers like missed a lot as well the mist one.

Speaker 1:

The mist did good. I also I like the little game show things. Okay, I was gonna pick one of my game show episodes, but I feel like I would have been narcissistic to pick one of my own episodes, so I but the uh, the will you survive?

Speaker 2:

these zombie tactics is doing really well on the download, so if you, guys want to pick a popular one, go check out. Will you Survive these Zombie Survival Tactics? I think that's what it was called.

Speaker 1:

Something like that. I think it might have been Zombie Scenarios.

Speaker 2:

Zombie Scenarios. That's what it was.

Speaker 1:

Something like that Well, you'll have to go find it, go find it. But in the meantime we're going to celebrate our independence. Go America. Woo America Fuck yeah, yeah, and until then, and for copyright reasons, we won't sing the rest. Well, for my reasons, I don't know. The rest, all right, no-transcript.
